Jonathan qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and is a Partner in the Firm and Head of the Family Law Department.

With more than 25 years’ experience in family law, Jonathan has extensive experience in cases involving children and domestic abuse. He specialises particularly in complex private law children matters, including cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, parental conflict and difficult, or sensitive, arrangements for children.

Jonathan is an experienced advocate and has represented clients in the Family Court throughout his career. While his current practice is increasingly focused on the strategic management and preparation of cases, he continues to bring his considerable advocacy experience to the advice he gives clients and to the conduct of complex proceedings.

Jonathan is a member of the Law Society’s Advanced Family Law Accreditation Scheme, with specialist accreditation in Private Children Law and Domestic Abuse.

As Head of Department, Jonathan also has an important supervisory and mentoring role within the family team. He works closely with the department’s younger lawyers, providing guidance and strategic input on complex cases and supporting their professional development.

Jonathan is known for his straightforward and pragmatic approach. He understands that family proceedings can be an extremely difficult and stressful experience and aims to give clients clear, realistic advice while ensuring that their case is thoroughly prepared and their position robustly represented.
